Guyana Always Offers New Opportunities

If we are willing and obedient to the Holy Spirit He will lead us through new doors and give us many opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While attending Victory World Missions in Tulsa OK, the Holy Spirit began to show me certain areas this ministry would be involved in. The Holy Spirit is not always specific when He first shows you  things  to come. Most of the time He will show you bits and pieces of the lay out of your life or ministry. If He showed us the whole picture at one time it would scare most of us to the point of  running and never stopping.

The Holy Spirit showed me this ministry would travel to seven different  countries and  share the Gospel. At this point I still do not know where or when the others will come into play. We must be obedient in the areas that he sends us and then He will use us in other areas and ministries.

The open door to Guyana has been such a blessing to me. This part of ministry has given me a peace and fulfillment that I cannot describe. God has opened the door to Venezuela and we are eager to go and be about our Fathers business. We have found the people of Venezuela to be a very kind and loving people. They have a need and a desire for the Gospel that you only see in a third world country. They will meet us at the rivers edge eager to help us in any way possible.

They live a lot like the Amerindians of Guyana. Most of their villages are located in swamps and their home are no more than poles stinking up out of the swamp with a few boards for the floor and no sides. Can you imagine living all your life in a small 15 x 15 hut with a thatch roof and no walls. No doors or windows to keep out the mosquitoes spiders or the elements of the weather. It is very hot in the day and can be cool at night. Most of the huts have no beds, maybe a foam mat and most just a blanket to lay on.

They have very little food and live day to day looking to the rivers and the rain forest to provide them with food. We take rice beans and flour to them when we go. But normally we are only there two or three times a year. Sometimes we may visit an area and it may be years before anyone goes back.

The people of Venezuela are desperate for Bibles in their native language (Spanish). We are in the process of trying to purchase Spanish Bibles to take to these forgotten people. We believe this door will be open only for a short time and we must work while we have light. Once the door is shut it will be up to the people of Venezuela to evangelize their people and the far remote tribal villages.

Some of the Mission groups working in the tribal areas have already be told to leave these regions by the Venezuela Gov. We must pray for this country and its people.
